A browser extension for Chrome and Edge is built and in validation. It is not in a store yet. This is how it works once it is: a small mark in the message boxes of sites you choose, nothing read until you press it, and the same three versions you get in the room.

Per site
Turn it on, one site at a time
Installing the extension gives it access to nothing. You choose the sites it may appear on, and each one is its own decision.
From the toolbar button: Turn on Tildi here, on the site you are looking at.
From setup, on first run: tick the sites you want and leave the rest.
A site you have not turned it on for never sees the extension at all.

The mark
Press the mark, choose, and place
On a site you turned it on for, a small mark appears in message boxes. Nothing happens until you press it.
Press the mark to open a slip beside the box with your words in it.
Choose an intention and, when it matters, the person you are writing to.
Three versions come back. Use this places the one you chose; Copy and Save do what they say.

Second Read
Read a selection, anywhere on the page
Second Read is not limited to message boxes. Select any text on a site you turned it on for and ask what the words are doing.
Select the text, right-click, and choose Read this with Tildi.
Or press Alt+Shift+R with the text selected.
The reading costs one action, the same as in the room.

Your account
Connect it through the room
The extension does not have a sign-in form of its own. It opens the room, and the room asks whether this account should be shared with it.
If you are already signed in, connecting is one click.
If you are not, sign in as usual and the question is waiting when you return.
Signing out of the extension signs you out everywhere.
Signing out of the room on its own leaves the extension connected; use Sign out everywhere to end both.

Privacy
What it reads, and when
Tildi notices which box you are typing in, so it can place its mark. It reads what is in the box only when you press the mark, and sends only that, with the intention and person you chose. It never reads the rest of the page, the address, or what you type before you press it.
The words in a box are read once, when you press the mark, and sent only then.
A selection is read once, when you ask for Second Read.
The extension keeps no drafts and nothing from the pages you write on.

Turning it off
Off for one site, or off altogether
Turning Tildi off is as local as turning it on. The mark goes, and the site is back to how it was.
From the slip: Not on this site removes the current site from the list.
From the toolbar button: turn the site off without opening anything else.
From the options page: edit the whole site list, or clear it.
