Troubleshooting

When a rewrite doesn’t come back.

Tildi tries to say what went wrong in plain words rather than a code. This matches each of those messages to what actually happened, what is worth retrying, and why your draft survives all of them.

01

First

Your draft did not go anywhere

Every one of these messages ends with some version of the same sentence, and it is not a consolation: it is literally true. The composer holds your text in this browser, and a failed request does not touch it.

  • The words are still in the box. Do not retype them.
  • A failed rewrite does not spend one of your actions.
  • Closing the tab is the one thing that can lose it: copy it out first if you need to leave.
02

The message says

“Tildi couldn’t reach the network”

The request never left. Either the connection dropped, or something between you and Tildi is refusing it: a captive wifi portal in a hotel or café is the usual culprit.

  • Check whether another site loads. If nothing does, it is the connection.
  • On public wifi, open any http site and see whether a login page appears.
  • Retry once you are back. Nothing was consumed and nothing was half-done.
03

The message says

“Something went quiet on our side”

This one is ours, not yours. The request arrived and something failed while answering it. It is worth retrying: these are usually brief.

  • Retry after a moment. The same draft and intention are still selected.
  • On the Saved screen the equivalent message is “the rewrite is here, but saving didn’t stick”, which means the version on screen is fine and only the save failed.
  • If it repeats for more than a few minutes, it is worth telling us.
04

The message says

“Your session ended”

Sign-ins do not last forever, and one that has lapsed shows up the moment you ask for something. Signing in again puts you back where you were.

  • Copy your draft before signing in again, in case the tab reloads.
  • Saved entries are on your account, so they are all still there afterwards.
  • If this happens constantly, a browser set to clear cookies on close is the usual cause.
05

The message says

“You’ve used today’s Tildi actions” or “this is part of Tildi Unfold”

Neither of these is a fault. The first means the pool is empty until it resets; the second means the thing you reached for belongs to a plan you are not on.

  • Action limits reset on a fixed UTC clock, which is often not your midnight.
  • Nothing is lost while you wait: the draft stays in the composer.
  • An Unfold access message is not a temporary failure; retrying will return the same answer until the plan changes.
