Almost every sign-in problem is one of four things: an expired code, an email that never arrived, a blocked provider window, or a browser that forgets. Here is how to tell which one you have.
01
First
How signing in works
There is no password to remember or mistype. You either take a six-digit code sent to your email, or continue with an Apple or Google account you already have.
The email route sends a six-digit code, not a link to click.
Apple and Google open their own sign-in window, not a Tildi one.
All three land on the same account if they use the same email address.
02
The code route
“That code didn’t match”
Codes expire, and asking for a new one retires the old one immediately. If you requested twice, the first email is already dead: the newest one is the only one that will work.
Use the most recent email, not the first one that arrived.
Check for a transposed digit: six digits typed under mild frustration is where this usually goes wrong.
Requesting a fresh code has a short cooldown, so the button waits a moment before it is available again.
03
The code route
The email has not arrived
Give it a minute before assuming it is lost, and check the address you typed, because a code sent to a mistyped address fails silently by design.
Look in spam and in any “promotions” or “updates” tab.
Check the address for a typo, then start again with the correct one.
Corporate mail filters are a common cause. A personal address is a quick way to test that theory.
04
Apple and Google
The sign-in window is blocked or refused
Continuing with a provider opens a second window, and several ordinary browser settings stop that happening. Tildi says which one it was where it can.
“Your browser blocked the sign-in window”: allow pop-ups for this site, or use an email code.
“That email already uses a different sign-in method”: you first signed in another way. Use that way, or take an email code.
“That sign-in option is not connected here yet”: that provider is not available on this surface. Use an email code.

It keeps signing me out
Signed out again the next time you visit
A sign-in is held in this browser. Anything that clears site data on close takes it with it, so the room asks again every visit.
Private or incognito windows forget the sign-in when you close them. That is the window working correctly.
A browser set to clear cookies on exit does the same thing on every site.
Strict tracking-prevention settings can also drop it. Allowing site data for Tildi fixes it.
